Dr. Richard Kennell Music Scholarship
Created by money provided by friends, colleagues, alumni and donors to honor Dr. Richard Kennell to celebrate his retirement as dean of the College of Musical Arts, this scholarship will provide financial assistance to a student in the College of Musical Arts.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior music major;
Must demonstrate satisfactory progress toward his/her degree;
Write and submit an essay of between 700 and 1,000 words describing the influence and positive impact of a music teacher in his/her life (the essay must indicate whether he or he will allow the essay to be shared with the teacher).
First preference shall be given to students who are the first in their families to go to college and demonstrate financial need as evidenced by FAFSA.
Second preference shall be given to students who demonstrate financial need as evidenced by FAFSA.
