Alumni/Faculty Economics Scholarship

Awarded to an Economics major or minor on the basis of an essay contest;
Must have completed at least nine (9) hours of economics coursework (including Principles of Economics courses);
Must have a 3.0 GPA in economics courses as of January 1;
Can also be nominated for this Scholarship by an economics professor.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Please submit a policy essay on the topic of: "Choose a controversial policy issue that interests you, and imagine you are an economic advisor to the President, who wants your opinion on this issue. What advice would you give him or her?". The paper should not exceed four pages in length (double spaced). Any references and footnotes should follow a standard style format. The essays will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee, and judged on originality, clarity, technical analysis, and correct usage of economic tools and principles. Appropriate grammar, punctuation, spelling, and transitions are also important.
