Dean William F. Schmeltz Scholarship

The Andrews Family Trust established the Dean William F. Schmeltz
Scholarship in 2010 to honor Dean Schmeltz for his leadership in the development of the
Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business at Bowling Green State University. The Andrews Family
Trust wishes to honor Dean Schmeltz in this way because of his support of Dr. Charles Andrews
when he was returning to complete his graduate degree. Dr. Andrews had significant
commitments outside of the classroom as he was married and raising four children. Because of
this support, Dr. Andrews was able to go on to complete his Ph.D. and have a very successful
academic career. Dr. Andrews’ career was truly inspired by Dean Schmeltz.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Recipient must be full-time student in Master of Business Administration or Master of Accountancy program;
Recipient must demonstrate education-related financial need. The student must complete the FAFSA and show need as reported on the SAR;
Recipient must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.25.;
The recipient shall not be eligible for any employer reimbursement for educational costs;
First preference shall be given to a recipient who has held his or her undergraduate degree for at least one year prior to returning to further his or her education;
Preference shall be given to a student who holds significant personal commitments outside of the educational environment.
