Sidney A. Ribeau President's Leadership Academy

The Sidney A. Ribeau President’s Leadership Academy (PLA) is a four-year leadership development program that engages scholars in classes, workshops, experiential learning, and community service activities. The curriculum focuses on specific outcomes, with each year’s experience building on those of the previous year.

Individuals selected to participate in PLA will receive a scholarship up to the cost of in-state instructional and general fees, for each year of eligibility. All monies must be applied directly to University charges. No refunds will be dispersed from PLA.

The Scholarship is renewable for a maximum of eight semesters of full-time enrollment (12-18 hours/semester). The Scholarship is only applied during Fall and Spring semesters.

Other Requirements:
Be accepted as a Bowling Green State University student prior to the PLA application deadline
Complete free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by February 15, 2024.
Must demonstrate financial need as determined by FAFSA.
Must demonstrate leadership and service during high school.
Only current high school seniors are eligible to apply. Applicants must graduate from high school by June 2024.

  2. The PLA is rooted in Robert Greenleaf's philosophy of Servant Leadership. We hope the each PLA scholar has the "heart of a servant leader". If members of the scholarship selection committee were to walk around your high school, how would your peers, teachers, and high school administrator's describe you as a servant leader? What kind of leadership skills have they witnessed? What impact would they describe your servant leadership has had at your high school and in the community? (300 to 600 words)
